Letter from the Commanding Officer:

Well it's time for "back to school" and "hello to all of your old friends".  How many of your buddies had a cool of a summer as you did?  I bet very few got SCUBA qualified or learned how to sail!

Don't forget to talk up the Cadets to your friends.  Bring one to drill and let them enjoy our activities.  The only thing better than cadets is having more friends in Cadets.

We had a lot of cadets attend trainings over the summer.  Many got their courses in and were advanced.  Don't just stand there and let new cadets pass you by.  Get hot on your coursework and move up in the unit.

It's also time to bear down and get your school work done.  Homework takes precedence to coursework. Remember: The decisions you make today will follow you for the rest of your life.

Welcome aboard to newest cadets:  Bradstock, Kingcade, Williams, Teves and Polivka.

A hardy welcome aboard also goes out to our newest Navy Leaguers:  Kingcade, Eberwein, Mendoza, Polivka, and Aleridge.

We now have 95 cadets and leaguers in the unit !!

Remember - you only get out of the Cadets - what you put into the cadets!

Don't forget "talk up Cadets" at school and to bring a friend to our next drill.

See you soon,

Curtis Gant

What Sacramento Division Does Every Year ...

In May we will again participate in the American Cancer Society "Relay for Life" The cadets camped out at Sutter Middle School in Folsom, CA and raised money for cancer research by taking turns walking for 24-hours.

In May we will place crosses and flags on Veteran's Graves at Sierra Hills Memorial Park and march in the Watt Avenue Memorial Day Parade.
On September 11 & 12 we will attend the Capitol City Airshow and see the Navy Blue Angels perform! @ Mather AFB
These are the A-10 Thunderbolt's pyrotechnics as the plane dropped simulated bombs at last year's Capitol Air Show. Cadets also got to go behind the lines with the Blue Angel pilots for a little extra security. Will you be there this year?
In October we will again attend the Navy's Fleet Week in San Francisco for a Blue Angel performance and a tour of numerous naval vessels.
